Library Cards

Mattapoisett Free Public Library will issue a library card to any adult presenting a valid photo identification and who completes a library card application. Individuals ages 5-17 must have a parent or legal guardian also sign the library card application.

A library patron must present his or her card for any library services, including Internet access.

Any patron may choose to have his or her card held permanently at the library. In general, children’s cards are held at the children’s circulation desk and adults’ cards are held at the adult circulation desk. Please keep in mind that if you visit another library, you will be required to present your card for all transactions.

A lost card may be replaced for a charge of $3, typically. This fee will be waived until December 1, 2009, to encourage all patrons to replace lost cards. For your account security, please do not ask staff to look up a barcode number.
