Summer Reading Party
with Backyard Band Jams
All are invited to join in the celebration with an interactive music concert from Backyard Band Jams and icecream cups.
End of party we'll hand out raffle and participation prizes for those who completed our summer reading challenge by Thursday, August 5.
"At a Backyard Band Jam families engage in musical play with traditional children's songs, sing-along storybooks, props, and instruments (see more about that below). Remaining physically distanced, we sing together, move and groove together, and of course jam out together!
Please bring along a blanket or lawn chairs to sit on, as well as something to shake - anything from a box of mac & cheese to actual egg shakers, scarf kind of thing - face cloth, dish cloth, etc... And a collection of instruments, anything that’s a “real” instrument or ones made from the recycling bin or kitchen cabinets. All that is really required is a willingness to play musically!
Backyard Band Jams are led by, Rhonda Matson, an early childhood music specialist for over 18 years, and Owner and Director of South Coast Music Together, music education classes for families."
Backyard Band Jams has been paid for by funds from the Friends of the Mattapoisett Library. Thank you.
